Martin Coates - Jim | Captain LockhartMartin’s first public production was with the amateur dramatics company Brighton Little Theatre performing The 39 Steps in the role of Richard Hannay. He recently completed the Foundation Course at Rose Bruford College, performing in two full length plays: Consensual in the role of Pete, and Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream as Lysander and Puck. He is excited to be performing in The Ruby in the Smoke.

Hamish Forbes - Frederick | Mr SelbyHamish took up acting when he started university three years ago, appearing in a number of Oxford student productions including Philip Pullman’s His Dark Materials and as William Carlisle in Simon Stephens’ Punk Rock. This is Hamish’s third consecutive Edinburgh Fringe performance, performing in Lucy Kirkwood’s NSFW (C Nova, 2014) and an adaptation of David Foster Wallace’s Brief Interviews with Hideous Men (The Space on the Mile, 2015). He is making his film debut as James Potter in Mischief Managed, an amateur fan-film to be released online this autumn.

Madeleine Golding - Mrs Holland | Aunt ReesMadeleine is a Drama and English graduate from the University of Bristol. Previously, she produced and performed in Harold Pinter's Ashes to Ashes and Edward Albee's Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf. She also performed in a staged reading of Justin Butcher's Childhood in Berlin. She is thrilled to be part of The Ruby in the Smoke and would like to thank the cast and crew for their dedication to this project!

Tris Hobson - Higgs | Bedwell twins | Marchbanks | Mr BerryTris graduated from the University of Cambridge last year. During his three years at university he performed in over 20 productions including; Of Mice and Men, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Tory Boyz and the prestigious Marlow Show Case. At Edinburgh Fringe he has performed in Strung Up Theatre's Chaucer All Strung Up (2013) and God on Trial (2014). Tris has just completed the Foundation Course in Acting at the Oxford School of Drama.

Rebecca Lenihan - Sally LockhartRebecca is a third year studying Medicine at St. Catherine’s College, Oxford. She has previously performed at Colchester’s Headgate Theatre, in My Mother Said I Never Should (2013) and as Sephy in Malorie Blackman’s Noughts and Crosses (2011). Rebecca's first Oxford performance was His Dark Materials: Part I in 2014. Here she played a number of characters, including the formidable Ruta Skadi and the slightly less formidable 'right wing of goose'. In His Dark Materials: Part II, Rebecca was upgraded to the role of Lyra, her favourite childhood character. Following this, Rebecca provided make-up and prosthetics for student productions of Pentecost and Phantom of the Opera, and the short films III and Mischief Managed, in addition to being an extra in the latter. She is excited to delve once again into one of Pullman's tales in her biggest theatre venture to date!
